There is something about the Lowcountry marsh that always makes me stop and look. The winding tidal creeks, grassy hammocks and enormous sky seem to change with the light, the tide and even the time of day.
In Where the Marsh Meets the Sky, I wanted to capture that wonderful sense of openness and quiet. A lone white egret crosses the sky above the marsh, giving the painting just a touch of movement in an otherwise peaceful landscape.
This panoramic original was inspired by the natural beauty of the South Carolina Lowcountry and the feeling of calm I find there.
