There is a special kind of light along the coast in the late afternoon. The day begins to soften, the shadows grow longer, and even the familiar walk across the dunes feels a little more beautiful.
In Crossing the Dunes in the Late Afternoon, I wanted to capture that fleeting Lowcountry moment—the sandy path, sea grasses, open sky and the promise of the ocean just beyond the dunes.
Painted with expressive brushwork and a warm coastal palette, this original is meant to bring home a little of that relaxed feeling of an afternoon spent by the sea.
